Biocare Medical, LLC XR Factor - 1.0 ml
The XR Factor is a potent blocker for eliminating endogenous rat IgG. By adding XR Factor to BIOCARE Mouse on Rat, Goat Polymer or Rabbit on Rodent polymer detection, endogenous rat IgG will dramatically be reduced or completely eliminated. BIOCARE has also developed Rodent Block R that blocks for nonspecific background staining, and at the same time, reduces endogenous rat IgG. The combination of Rodent Block R and the XR Factor allows primary goat, rabbit and mouse antibodies to be used on rat tissues. It can also be used on an automated staining system.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Bouin's Solution 20 ML
Bouin's solution can be used as a fixation and a staining fluid and is excellent for use on biopsy specimens of the gastrointestinal tract. Tissue from the endocrine system are well fixed and many antibodies react well with tissue fixed in Bouin's. May be used as a routine fixative or a staining solution, but should not be used as a preservative for tissue. The maximum fixation time in this solution should be less than 48 hours and should be transferred to alcohol. Packaged in leak-proof histo-containers, prefilled and ready-to-use.
Formulated with Picric Acid saturated aqueous solution 75%, Formalin (40% aqueous formaldehyde) 25% and Glacial Acetic acid 5% in de-ionized water.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Glutaraldehyde Aqueous 50%, EM Grade 10 ML
OCHCH₂CH₂CH₂CHO F.W. 100.12
Aqueous glutaraldehyde, the universal fixative for electron microscopy, is purified to EM grade from commercial grade by "all-glass vacuum-distillation". It is the highest possible quality, free from polymers and other contaminents. Each lot is assayed prior to shipping assuring consistent purity and the highest possible quality.
If stored properly, our Glutaraldehyde has a very long shelf life. EM grade aqueous glutaraldehyde, stored in volumes greater than 100 ml, with repeated defrosting and recapping, will polymerize in time, producing an absorption peak of 235nm rather than the 280nm of pure EM grade. The presence of polymerized glutaraldehyde greatly reduces its efficiency as a cross-linking agent, preventing proper fixation. For this reason, we provide 10 ml ampoules sealed under dry nitrogen and 100 ml bottles that are kept refrigerated until it is shipped.
Grade: EM Grade

Electron Microscopy Sciences Bismuth Stain Kit 2
Bismuth specifically stains Golgi beads and interchromatin granules after fixation with glutaraldehyde, whereas it stains nucleoli, basic protein, and biogenic amines after formaldehyde fixation. Bismuth staining of sections is relatively nonspecific: it can stain glycogen, lysosomes, ribosomes, polysaccharides, ferritin, and DNA. M.A. Hayat, "Basic Techniques for TEM" p. 184 (1986). Enhancing Contrast in General (Riva, 1974). Kit contains 5x10 ml Solution A(Sodium tartrate in NaOH) 5x200mg Ingredient B (Bismuth subnitrate).

Laboratory Reagent, Histological Reagent, Tissue Clearing Reagent, Visikol HISTO-1 and HISTO-2 Combo, 100mL each. A simple and rapid tissue clearing formula that can be used to image tissues in 3D without damaging the underlying cellular morphology. Designed to pair with immunolabeling and reversible so that 3D histology can be followed up with traditional 2D histology. The Visikol HISTO tissue clearing approach is comprised of two different reagents called Visikol HISTO-1 and Visikol HISTO-2 whereas Visikol HISTO-1 is used first and Visikol HISTO-2 is used second. However, for small tissues such as micro-tissues and thin brain slices (500 um), only Visikol HISTO-1 is required and tissues can be imaged in Visikol HISTO-1. Larger tissues must be placed in Visikol HISTO-2 to finish clearing and then these samples can be imaged in Visikol HISTO-2. WARNING: Do not use HISTO-2 within any polystyrene vessle.

Laboratory Reagent, Histological Reagent, Tissue Clearing Reagent, Visikol HISTO-M Starter Kit. With the Visikol HISTO tissue clearing approach you are now able to rapidly and easily image tissues in 3D without damaging the underlying cellular morphology. The Visikol HISTO approach has been designed to pair with immunolabeling and is reversible so that 3D histology can be followed up with traditional 2D histology. The Visikol HISTO tissue clearing approach for 3D tissue cultures is comprised of one reagent called Visikol HISTO-M. In our Starter Kit we have combined 30 mL of Visikol HISTO-M with the four pre-treatment solutions required to process 3D tissue cultures for immunolabeling. All you need to do is add your immunolabels and nuclear stains. This kit comes with enough material to process three 96-well plates of micro-tissues.

BioGenex is the inventor of Antigen Retrieval enabling technology. Antigen Retrieval is an effective way of unmasking antigenic epitopes on the surface of formalin-fixed, parraffin-embedded tissue sections using microwave heating. Covered by exclusive patents issued to BioGenex, this method to recover antigenicity in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections has been routinely practiced in laboratories throughout the world. The Antigen Retrieval technique breaks the formalin induced cross-linking bonds between epitopes and unrelated proteins, thereby allowing better penetration of antibody and accessibility of epitopes.
